BREASTFEEDING SUPPORT

Additional Information

ANTENATAL PREPARATION

During pregnancy I provide a 3-session breastfeeding course to help you thoroughly prepare for the reality of life and feeding a newborn baby, what to expect, and practical tools with mindfulness techniques to implement from Day 1. This course will get you ready for a positive and successful start to your breastfeeding journey - you will be several steps ahead, as soon as you meet your brand new baby!

DATES TO START IN 2021. GET IN TOUCH IF YOU WOULD LIKE PRIVATE SESSIONS SOONER.

POSTNATAL SUPPORT

Private - At Home

As a Private Midwife I can offer personalised postnatal care in your home, during the early days and weeks of your new family life. This is to complement your NHS midwife appointments (who will carry out initial baby-checks, the Day 5 screening test, and ensure you have any GP or hospital follow-ups required from your pregnancy and birth), and will focus on caring for you as a new mother in the 4th trimester, providing in-depth support with breastfeeding and any newborn concerns, plus relaxation techniques for parenting.

I am passionate about providing evidence-based information regarding breastfeeding, working through your birth and early days experiences, providing mindfulness techniques to enhance your experience and supporting you to reach your breastfeeding goals. It is NOT purely about baby's pees, poos and weight gain (although these are important indicators) and I am focussed on empowering  you to feel positive, confident and able to trust your instincts as a mother. Breastfeeding should feel relaxing, comfortable, and be an enjoyable activity for both you and baby - if this is not the case, please reach out for support.

Breastfeeding Drop-in  - COMING SOON

Welcoming, supportive  breastfeeding drop-in sessions in Haddenham. This group will be relaxed, free, sociable, and for anyone on their feeding journey (whatever breastfeeding looks like for you) wanting to gain confidence feeding in public, meet other mothers, and to address common Q&As with positioning, attachment and 'top tips' support from a midwife.

Postnatal Course - COMING SOON

This will be a dedicated space focussed on new motherhood, feeding, discussion topics such as the huge identity-shift, the importance of caring for your own mental health, and mindfulness techniques to use going forward.

Becoming Mama feedback

"Huge thanks for all the feeding support through my pregnancy and the time in hospital - all the breastfeeding help has been amazing and made me feel so much better!"

"Breastfeeding support from Becoming Mama was the most useful money I spent. We spend so much on prams, slings, nests - why do we think twice before getting the support we need to feed our babies?"

I spoke to so many specialists about my breastfeeding issue - midwives, doctors, health visitors, the feeding team - it was only after receiving breastfeeding support from Becoming Mama that I actually felt better. It wasn't just Ellie's knowledge and advice. It was that she actually listened, responded to each one of my concerns and really cared about my experience."
